Greenport Marketing for the North Fork

Greenport's downtown runs along Front Street and Main Street to Mitchell Park and the marina, where the North Ferry leaves for Shelter Island. The village is the last stop on the LIRR's Main Line, and visitors also arrive by car along Route 25 after passing the wineries and farm stands of the North Fork. Restaurants, galleries and inns here do most of their business from late spring through the fall harvest.

Stony Brook Eastern Long Island Hospital on Manor Place serves Greenport, the rest of Southold and Shelter Island, and it supports a small cluster of local practices. Year-round residents include longtime families, farm and hospitality workers and retirees who want doctors, dentists and lawyers close to home. A practice here can serve a wide area simply because the next option may be in Riverhead.
